5. Ipoh Street Art

Ipoh's hidden gem? Street art! Just as impressive as Penang's, many murals were created by the same artist, Ernest Zacharevic. Look for his 7 unique pieces around town.

But that's not all! Tons of other art by local creators awaits in alleyways of Old and New Town. Grab a free map at the Information Centre or simply wander and be surprised!

Some art might be a bit faded, but that adds to its charm. It blends with the old buildings, creating a cool, unique atmosphere.

Address: Scattered throughout Ipoh Old Town and concentrated down Mural’s Art Lane in Ipoh New Town.

6. Kellie’s Castle

Take a trip back in time near Ipoh at Kellie's Castle in Batu Gajah! This spooky-cool castle was built by a Scottish man named William Kellie Smith as a gift for his son. Sadly, construction stopped forever when Mr. Smith passed away.

Even though it's not finished, Kellie's Castle is still impressive. It's a mix of Moorish and European styles and has some neat features like a wine cellar and a space that was supposed to be a tennis court on the roof!

Address: Lot 48436, Kompleks Pelancongan Kellie's Castle, KM 5.5, Jalan Gopeng, 31000 Batu Gajah, Perak, Malaysia

Opening Hours: 9:30am to 5:30pm

7. Ipoh Railway Station

History fans, take note! The Ipoh Railway Station is a must-see. Built in 1935, this grand old building boasts a unique architectural style. It mixes Victorian influences, familiar from classic European houses, with Moorish touches.

The station's striking white facade and distinctive domes make it a standout landmark. It's become a popular spot for photos, but even if you're not after the perfect Instagram shot, it's worth a visit to appreciate its interesting design.
